Fifteen adults and six children belted out their favorite tunes in a local karaoke contest held Saturday on Miami's Main thoroughfare - also recognized at the historic “Route 66.”

James Redden, Cecilia Zepeda and Donald fuller took home the first-, second- and third-place prizes respectively in the adult competition.

In the children's contest, John Hale was awarded the top prize as Kendall Morisett and Macie Rhodes accepted the second- and third-place awards.

Saturday's competitions were sponsored by Miami Main Street Inc., CableOne, the Modoc Tribe and the Miami News-Record.

The event was part of “Christmas in July” promotion sponsored by Miami's downtown merchants.

The promotion was tucked within a full weekend of activities that kept Miami's business owners busy.

An estimated 2,000 bikes rolled through town for Saturday's bike run sponsored by Buffalo Casino.

In addition, Oklahoma's eight-man football standouts played an all-star “east vs. west” game on Saturday as American Legion and Little League baseball players engaged in state-tournaments in neighboring towns.
