A Miami man fled the scene after crashing a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier into a utility pole on North Main Wednesday.

Tali Willis, 25, told authorities that he fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle while driving southbound on North Main at approximately 8 p.m.

Witnesses say the vehicle swerved to the left from the southbound lane, crossed the turning lane and both northbound lanes before striking a utility pole at the corner of North Main Street and West Miami Boulevard.

Willis allegedly took off on foot and was later located by authorities.
