A 33-year-old Fairland woman and her 14-year-old son were injured in a three-vehicle accident Tuesday in Seneca, Mo.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol troopers, Shane Couch, 21, of Grove, was stopped at the intersection of Missouri highways 60 and 43. Couch told authorities he thought the intersection was a four-way stop and proceeded through the intersection.

Talana Sloan and her son, Zachary, entered the intersection in a 2007 Nissan and struck Couch's truck pushing it into a 2007 Jeep driven by Sandra Scorsedetar, 54, of Joplin, Mo.

Sloan and her son were both taken to a Joplin hospital for treatment.
