A Miami man is facing first-degree manslaughter charges in connection with an accident, which led to the death of a 34-year-old Miami woman.
Sherrie Koronis died after she was thrown from a vehicle driven by Justin Yost, 34.
Authorities say Koronis was riding on the tailgate of a truck around noon on July 11.
The truck was traveling east on a county road near Commerce when Yost allegedly slammed on the brakes then began to travel in reverse at an estimated speed of 45 mph.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers reported that Yost lost control of the 1997 Ford F-150 which made a 180-degree turn and came to rest facing west.
Friday, District Attorney Eddie Wyant charged Yost with one count of first-degree manslaughter.
Bond was set at $25,000.
