A $60,000 bond has been set on a man accused of placing a bomb at the home of his pregnant girlfriend.
Ty Charles Woods, 27, of Grove, was taken into custody without incident after his live-in girlfriend called authorities to report that Woods had left a text message on her phone telling her that a bomb was taped to a fence post at her residence at 5500 E 250 Road.
According to the report filed in district court, Delaware County Officers responded to the residence and discovered what they determined was possibly an explosive device.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb squad was contacted and, what they determined was a explosive device, was disassembled.
Woods was contacted by Deputy Mark Berry who met with the suspect at Tom Cat Corner. Woods told Deputy Berry that he and his girlfriend had been arguing and he didnít think it would go this far.
Woods was taken into custody and transported to the Delaware County Jail.
A background check on Woods shows felony convictions for conspiracy in Delaware County and felony convictions from Houston, Texas for first degree aggravated robbery and in Huntsville Prison for third degree possession of contraband in prison.
He could face charges of possession of explosive by a convicted felon and manufacturing an explosive device. He will return to district court on Feb. 26, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.
