A county official announced Monday that state officials cited one county jail deficiency after a July 23 inspection and the matter was resolved within 48 hours.

Ottawa County Sheriff Terry Durborow said state inspectors found “trouble” with a central alarm panel, causing the jail to be in violation of state fire prevention policies.

“On July 25, a service technician replaced a faulty detector and the panel was reset,” Durborow wrote in a documented plan of correction.
