The frost is just beginning to form on the pumpkin's in the patch and it's time for some fall family fun at Annabelle's Fun Farm near Welch.
Starting Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 Annabelle's Fun Farm owned by Lyle and Tim Wright will open for a great place to get away in the fresh, crisp, autumn air for a day with family or friends. The farm will offer many activities for a memorable time.
Bethany Rose with Annabelle's Fun Farm said "We wanted to offer a great country pumpkin patch experience for the whole family. There was nothing like it right here in this area."
Kids can shoot an air cannon that launches tennis balls at OU/OSU dressed scarecrows, go for a train ride or a hay ride, get up close to some animals at the petting zoo with lambs, goats rabbits, poultry a mini horse and more, or try making their way through a small hay maze. Due to the dry weather a haunted corn maze will have to be put on hold for next year.
The farm has a Kiddie Land playground with a swing and slide barn, playhouse, wooden tractor and corn box for old fashioned good times.
A gift shop with several vendors will offer a chance to shop for some unique homemade crafts, jewelry, photographs and t-shirts that will all be for sale. A pumpkin patch offers the opportunity to pick out a pumpkin for a Halloween jack-o-lantern or fall accent.
Rose said there will be delicious snack items for sale such as popcorn, cotton candy, candy bars and drinks, but she also encouraged people to bring their own picnic lunch to enjoy outdoors on the 10 acre country farm.
A unique after dark feature will be scary movies shown outdoors under the stars on the farm. Rose said the movies will start around 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday with a double feature night on Saturday. Rose said the movies will be scary and are suitable for teens and adults.
Annabelle's Fun Farm is closed on Mondays, open 10 a.m to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday(activities and rides close at 6:30p.m.) and open 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Rose said people are welcome to stay later on Friday and Saturdays to stay for the movies and she suggests bringing a lawn chair or a blanket.
Annabelle's Fun Farm is located one mile east of Welch and then south one mile on Bluejacket Road then turn right and go one-half mile on 110 Road.
Rose said admission is free to enter but the Farm is asking for donations of canned goods that will be divided between the Miami Salvation Army and the Vinita Salvation Army.
