A four-day course designed to train individuals to mediate family and divorce matters will be held in Miami from Wednesday, June 23 through Saturday, June 26.
The course meets the training requirements for professional mediators to qualify for the Families in Transition Program and is approved by the Oklahoma Bar Association for mandatory continuing legal education.
Judges throughout Oklahoma are referring disputes to mediation in the hope that parties might resolve matters on a voluntary basis and avoid an expensive legal battle. Individuals who complete the course will receive a certificate and be qualified to assist in resolving family and divorce matters.
The course is sponsored by the Mediation Institute, a private, not-for-profit organization that does training throughout the state. The course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. all four days. Pre-registration is required. For more information about the course, call Jim Stovall, director of training, toll free at 888-607-8914.
