JAY - One man was listed in critical condition following an ATV accident Friday night seven miles northwest of Jay on a county road, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Robert Kirby, 47, of Eucha, was transported via Grove EMA to the Integris Grove General Hospital for treatment of head and trunk internal injuries. He was pinned beneath a 2000 Yahama ATV for about two minutes, according to Trooper Scott Green.
The accident occurred around 10:40 p.m. as Kirby failed to make a turn on County Road 530 and overturned two times, and, according to the OHP report, the ATV came to rest on top of the driver.
Kirby was not wearing protective head gear at the time of the accident, the trooper noted in his report.
