The Ottawa County Commission will close a bridge near Seneca this weekend for repairs, according to District 2 Commissioner Kenneth Palmer.

Recent floodwaters damaged Winscott Bridge over Brush Creek on South 685 Road between East 166 and East 680 roads. The road is commonly known as South Cayuga Road.

Palmer said the bridge would be closed from Friday through Saturday, and possibly Sunday depending on the amount of time it takes for repairs.

Anyone planning to travel that route over the weekend is advised to make plans for an alternate route.

This is one of many projects the county commission will be working on in the next several months as flood recovery continues.

A second closure is planned Aug. 3 through 5, according to county officials.

Strawberry Bridge, which crosses Sycamore Creek just south of Oklahoma Highway 60 on County Road S. 690, will close for repairs.
