Events for the 2007 Ottawa County Fair are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Aug. 18 with the annual dog show and the traditional horse show on the following day..

Contestants will begin registering for the show at 3 p.m. on the day of the event, an hour before the show's 4 p.m. start.

Due to the devastation floodwaters caused to the Miami Municipal Fairgrounds, this year's animal and livestock events will be held at the NEO A&M College Arena.

On Aug. 20, the indoor exhibits will be displayed and judged at the Ottawa-Peoria Culture Center at the corner of 8 Tribes Trail and Oklahoma Highway 69A. Exhibits should be entered between 7 a.m. and noon, with judging to begin at 1:30 p.m.

The livestock show will begin Aug. 21 with rabbits and poultry. The animals in that class will be judged at 8 a.m. Aug. 22 and will be released at 9 p.m.

The weigh-in for swine is from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 21 with the swine show at 5:30 p.m.

All other classes will follow on a daily basis, with only one show per day through Thursday. Two shows will be held on Saturday - the dairy division and bucket calves.

The carnival will also begin Tuesday and will continue each night at 6 p.m. through Aug. 25. It will be held in front of Quapaw Casino on Oklahoma Highway 69A.

All livestock must be removed from the arena immediately after the showing in their class to make room for the next class.

The premium sale will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 and showmanship awards will be given at 7 p.m. Aug. 25.
