A Muskogee man was transported to a Joplin hospital Monday morning after overturning on an icy bridge near Afton.

Terry Pellett, 61, was driving a 2008 Dodge on I-44, six miles north of Afton at 6:55 a.m. Monday when he hit an icy patch on a bridge.

The truck struck the center wall, went across the road and struck a guardrail. Authorities say the truck rolled three times, coming to rest on its wheels.

Pellett was pinned in his vehicle for about 20 minutes.

Authorities say Pellett was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags did not deploy.

Pellett was listed in good condition Monday afternoon, according to hospital personnel.
