No one need have Christmas dinner home alone.
Timberline Alms Ministries in Quapaw is hosting a complete Christmas dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The church is located at 400 Main St. in Quapaw.
Davena Laue and Bessie Sims, co-laborers at the church, will prepare the meal, which will consist of, as Laue put it, “the whole thing.”
What they don't prepare will be brought by other members of the congregation.
The menu includes turkey and dressing, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, other vegetables and homemade strawberry shortcake and pies.
This is the first time the church, which was established in 2002, has served Christmas dinner.
“No body has to be alone for Christmas dinner,” Laue said. “Those who can't afford to make the meal are welcome to come share with us. Those who would otherwise be alone are also welcome to come out.”
There is no charge.
“But, we won't turn down donations,” Laue said.
The Timberline Ministries is currently working on developing a disaster relief program and crisis center out of Quapaw.
