Polls opened this morning for voters in Miami School District to decide the fate of a $4.19 million bond issue proposal.

School district officials have campaigned heavily as they have sought public support to build a multi-purpose facility on the high school campus site.

A successful win will require a super majority of favorable votes as education bonds, by law, must carry 60 percent of the votes.

Polls in the district will close today at 7 p.m.
