The death of a 54-year-old Miami man has been ruled as accidental, according to an autopsy report released this week.
According to Detective Chris Leamon, the state medicl examiner ruled that Donald Emery Schaal died as a result of complications brought on by a mix of alcohol and prescription medication.
Schaal was found dead in an alley in the block of D Street SE on May 21 near his parked recreational vehicle.
Authorities say Schaal and two other men occupied the RV.
According to the police report, one of the roommates returned from a local tavern to find Schaal lying unresponsive in the alley.
Ottawa County Deputy John Dalgarn said he saw Schaal on the day the man died and he appeared to be intoxicated.
