The 10th National Conference on Tar Creek will be presented from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 16-17 at the Miami Civic Center.

“History, Culture and Chocolate: Native American Ways and Old Mining Days,” a chocolate fund-raiser for the LEAD Agency, will preceded the annual conference from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Dobson Museum.

Native American artist Ron Seat will be honored.

LEAD Agency’s 14th annual “Fish Tournament on Tar Creek” will be at the Coleman Theater at 7 p.m. Sept. 16.

Participants will view the award winning documentary “Shall We Gather at the River.” Come early, stay after for interesting discussions about the historic relationship of agriculture and disaster.

Attorney General Drew Edmondson, Don McCorkle and others are featured in the film.

Tickets at the door are $10.
