Ottawa County authorities are searching for a 16-year-old Peoria teen last seen by her parents on Dec. 7.

Investigators say Kelsey Mahurin-Reeves left her home after a verbal altercation with her mother and no one has seen her since.

"I think people know where she is but they are not telling us," said Angel Reeves, the missing girl's mother. "But, I am concerned about her safety because of the people she may be with."

Reeves is described as 5-feet, 5-inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes.

"We are following every lead we get," said Deputy John Dalgarn. "Anyone who sees Kelsey or knows where she is needs to contact authorities."

Reeves has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Withholding information with regards to the whereabouts of a missing juvenile or harboring a fugitive is against the law.

Anyone with information about Reeves' whereabouts should contact the sheriff's office at 542-2806 or the police department at 542-5585.
