WYANDOTTE - Driving under the influence caused a man to be listed in serious condition following a single- vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Oklahoma Highway 10 three miles of Wyandotte, the Oklahoma High Patrol confirmed.
The accident occurred about 5 a.m. when, according to Trooper Jack Rhinehart, 21-year-old Kendall Young, of Wyandotte, driving a 1992 Chevrolet pickup northbound, ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and went airborne for 72 feet before the truck came to rest on its wheels.
Young was transported to Freeman Health Care Systems in Joplin, Mo. He was treated for head, trunk, internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries, Trooper Rhinehart reported.
The trooper said alcohol contributed to the accident.
