Investigation continues today into what police believe was a prescription drug overdose involving two Miami High School students.
Two students were taken to the emergency room after school officials found on campus in “serious medical condition,” according to the school resource officer Joey Williams.
Williams said one of the teens was unresponsive and admitted to the hospital and has been placed on a ventilator. The other student was “very lethargic,” he said.
“We are still trying to put all the pieces together,” Williams said. “But, it appears they may have overdosed on prescription medication.”
School officials are working with the Miami Police Department to determine what kind of medication the teens took and how they gained access to the drugs.
