Parades throughout the Miami area will soon usher in the most wonder time of the year. Christmas parades in Miami and the surrounding communities will all be held Dec. 1.

This year's extravaganza of sights, lights and Santa will begin with the Picher parade at 10 a.m. Participants will meet at the former sports complex on A Street. For more information, call Picher City Hall at 673-1765.

Participants in the Bluejacket parade will begin lining up in the city park at 10 a.m. for the 11 a.m. march through town. For more information, call Bluejacket City Hall at 784-2382.

Santa will make his way through Quapaw at noon. Participants will line up at 11:15 at the school. For more information, call Quapaw City Hall at 674-2525.

Participants in the Welch parade will begin lining up at 1:15 p.m. at the city park at the south end of Commercial Street. The parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. For more information, call Welch City Hall at 788-3616.

Assembly of the Commerce parade will take place at 3 p.m. in front of the police department. The parade will travel through downtown at 3:30. For more information, call the Commerce Police Department at 675-4372.

Lights and laughter will be plentiful along Miami's Main Street, beginning at 6 p.m. Lineup will begin at Vance Ford.
