The Junior Bull Riders, Oklahoma’s largest Junior Rodeo Association is coming to Grove July 25.

"JBR has never traveled to this area," said Kenny Robertson, a promoter for the event. "JBR offers bull riding and bareback riding from youth up to 21 years of age and we’ve had record-breaking attendance at each rodeo."

Paul and Connie Mendell, of Vinita, are the national directors for the National Junior Bull Riders Association.

“The goal of JBR is to put families together for fun and entertainment and to teach the kids the proper way to perform various rodeo events correctly and safely,” said Connie Mendell.

"We are multi state and growing," said Mendell. "We assure our kids a drug and alcohol free environment and believe in helping kids learn sportsmanship, hard work and performing to the best of their abilities in the rodeo arena as well as in school and in life."

Currently junior rodeo participants in 11 states in the United States are members of the NJBRA.

The junior bull riders event will begin at 5 p.m., July 25 at the Grove Round Up Club.
