Routine traffic stops over the weekend led to the arrest of a Jay man on drug charges and a Texas man wanted on larceny and theft charges, Grove Police Chief Mark Morris said Tuesday.
Joshua Michael Carriker, 19, of Jay was arrested on Sunday. Police found Flexeril pills and marijuana on Carriker and a silver pipe in a car where he was a passenger, according to a Grove police report.
Court records show in October Carriker pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and received a one year deferred sentence.
In an second arrest, Benjamin Wayne Fields, 36, was stopped after making an improper lane change at the intersection of State Park Road and South Main Street and travel left of the center lane multiple times, according to the police report.
Fields is waiting extradition back to Texas on larceny and theft charges.
