The naming of a new city manager is set for a possible vote today as members of the Miami City Council and the city's special utility board gather today.
The two panels will hold meet in joint executive session at 5 p.m. today to narrow the three top candidates to one.
Finalists for the manager position are Mike Randall, 54, of rural Monett, Mo.; Michael Ashcraft, 54, of Olathe, Kan.; and Huey P. Long, 59, of Safford, Ariz.
All three were in Miami on Friday for a public introduction.
It has been more than six months since former city manager Michael Spurgeon resigned.
City administrators hope to have a new manager in place by Aug. 1.
