A deposit safe containing approximately $1,000 in cash and a deposit bag with an undetermined amount of money was stolen from a local restaurant early Tuesday morning, according to police reports.

Authorities say sometime between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, someone entered the Montana Mike's Restaurant through the exhaust vent on the roof.

At 8:35 a.m., the shift manager entered the restaurant and noticed the deposit safe missing.

Detective Steve Johnston said the rivets were removed from the vent cover on the roof of the building to gain access. The suspects apparently left the building through a back door.

Anyone with information about Tuesday's burglary is asked to contact Johnston at 542-5585.
