GROVE - The 2008 Harvest Moon Cruise event will begin early Saturday with registration of vehicles.
This nostalgic “blast from the past” event brings car enthusiasts and fans from all over the four-state area to Grove to view classic cars, cruise Main Street and enjoy music from the cruise era.
Registration will begin 9 a.m.
Saturday at the Community Center.
There is a $10 registration fee for cruisers wanting to exhibit a car for judging and participate in the official one- hour closed cruise and Main Street Cruise Parade.
Those wanting to participate in the Cruise only can register for a $5.
“The committee has worked hard for many months to bring in cars from all over the four state area and then some,” said Jaime Zellow, Cruise Night Chairman. “This year, we will be giving plaques for the top 75 awesome vehicles attending and one for the Best Motorcycle.”
The award presentation will take place on the front lawn of the Grove Community Center immediately following the cruise.
The streets of Grove is expected to be lined up with hundreds of cars, motorcycles and people to watch the Main Street Cruise Parade that begins promptly at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Closed Cruise Parade has a shortened route this year, which begins at the Community Center and turns around at Harpe's.
“We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the cars on display and great music from our past provided by DJ-Dink West,” said Lisa Friden, GACC President.
