Jerry Dean Coach of Commerce, Okla. passed from this life Friday, September 21, 2018 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was 71.
Jerry was born December 27, 1946 in Picher, Okla. to Freeman and Iva Mae (Armstrong) Coach. He lived in Picher and Commerce all of his life. He served with the United States Army during Vietnam and then served with the Oklahoma National Guard for 30 years.
Jerry had worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami and was a truck driver for Ottawa County District 1… Road Crew. He served 20 years on Picher Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the American Legion.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Bessie Ross, Loretta Evans and Linda Coach.
Jerry married Nancy Sweeten on May 17, 1968. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Jerry Coach of Commerce, Okla. and Johnnie Coach and his wife Tracy of Wyandotte, Okla., one brother, Kenneth Coach of Miami, Okla., two sisters, Katheryn Koger of Miami, Okla. and Betty Bayliss of Commerce, Okla. and one grandchild, Kacy Chance.
Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at United In Christ Church in Quapaw, Okla. with Rev. Clifton Redden officiating. Honors will be presented by Quapaw Tribal Fire Department Honors Team and American Legion Post 147 Funeral Detail. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce, Okla. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Commerce, Okla.
