The body of a motorcyclist discovered on Monday has been identified by authorities as a 52-year-old Wyandotte man.
NEOSHO, Mo. – The body of a Wyandotte man was found in a ditch Monday afternoon in Missouri. Authorities are uncertain of the time and date of the fatality crash.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the man found around 12:25 p.m. on Sept. 3 in a ditch on Missouri Interstate-49 near Mulberry Road and Hammer Road by a passerby was later identified as 52-year-old Richard “ Dicky” C. Clemmons of Wyandotte.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reports a crash occurred when Clemmons failed to negotiate a curve while traveling north on his 2009 Yamaha Motorcycle and ran off the right side of the road and was ejected.
Newton County Coroner Dale Owens pronounced Clemmons dead at the scene and indicated the body had been there for an undetermined time.

The crash is being investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol and is being assisted by the Newton County Sheriff's Department.
