Margaret Elizabeth Ann Smith of Grove, Okla. passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She was 90.

Margaret was born May 5, 1928 in Delaware County, Okla. to Ola and Una (Gross) Rhoten. She had lived in Grove, Okla. for 1 ½ years moving from Sulphur Bend area S.E. of Fairland where she had lived for many years.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairland, Okla. and was a cook at Lorene’s Café in Fairland for many years.  

Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband Earl Jennings in 1964 and her second husband J.T. Smith in 2007, her daughter Brenda Sue Forbes, her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters Nancy West and husband Larry of Grove, Okla., Margaret Ann Dubber and husband Rodger of Keni, Ala., step son Larry Smith of Vian, Okla., step daughter Karen Simmons and husband James of Vian, Okla., brother Don Rhoten of Montezuma, Kan., seven  grandchildren and  nine great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Fairland, Okla. Pastor Nate Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bend Cemetery, S.E. of Fairland. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the First Christian Church in Fairland.
