1. Mark your calendars for the Ottawa County Stuff the Bus school drive presented by the Ottawa County United Way and Bright Futures Miami Saturday, Aug. 4. Help fill school buses parked at two Miami locations - the Walmart Supercenter, 2415 N Main Street and Shoe Sensation, 1512 N Main Street - from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with much-needed supplies and shoes for local school children. 2. The Eastern Shawnee's Shawna Stovall Back to School Children's Pow Wow is a fun and educational event for kids complete with inflatables, face painting, snow cones, raffles and plenty of prizes. Kids will learn more about Native American culture through storytelling, traditional dancing and other engaging activities. Fun begins at noon on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Wyandotte Pow Wow Grounds, 69701 E Hwy 60, Wyandotte (South-West of Indigo Sky Casino). For more information, call 918-666-7710.

3. The Coleman Theatre presents the Red Dirt Rangers in concert Saturday, Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Red Dirt music grew up in Stillwater in a two-story, five-bedroom funky old place called The Farm. 4. On the hunt for something neat or new? Be sure to stop by the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church's Bizarre Bazaar Saturday, Aug. 4. Doors open at 9 a.m., 2337 N Main Street, Miami. Visit booths featuring Avon, Tupperware, clothes, knick-knacks, crafts, fresh lemonade and much more.

5. In theater's this weekend is "The Darkest Minds" starring Amandla Stenberg, Mandy Moore, Gwendoline Christie, and Patrick Gibson. When teens mysteriously develop powerful new abilities, they are seen as a threat by the government and sent to detainment camps. Sixteen-year-old Ruby (Stenberg) soon escapes from her captors and joins other runaways who are seeking a safe haven.
