Pat Creech, who has served as the department chair since 1999, has decided to pass the mantle on in order to focus more on teaching.

MIAMI – Joy Bauer has been selected to succeed Pat Creech as the Business and Technology Department chair. Creech, who has served as the department chair since 1999, has decided to pass the mantle on in order to focus more on teaching.

“We are excited about the addition of Joy Bauer to NEO's leadership team,” said Dr. Jeff Hale, NEO A&M President. “Joy takes over a department that has enjoyed great success under the tenure of former chair Pat Creech. She inherits a faculty with a great deal of experience and a group of students who continue to perform at a high level in state, regional, and national competitions. We have great confidence that Joy will lead the department to even greater success.”

Joy Bauer is a 1982 graduate of NEO A&M College. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern State University and a master’s degree from Pittsburg State University. She is currently working toward a doctorate degree at the University of Arkansas focusing on Community College Leadership.

Bauer is a faculty member in the Business and Technology Department and also currently serves as the Coordinator for Online Learning, and Assessment Coordinator. She also serves as the Quality Matters Institutional Coordinator and is a Certified Master Peer Reviewer. She facilitates both statewide and national workshops to improve the design of online courses.

“I am honored to be selected as the Chair of NEO’s Business & Technology Department,” said Bauer. “I look forward to serving the department in this role. Thanks to the leadership of Mrs. Pat Creech and dedicated faculty, our department is strong and highly committed to the success of our students.”
