MIAMI – The top five leadership positions of the Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma are now up for open elections.

Elections are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Modoc Tribe’s Annual Meeting at the main tribal building 22 North 8 Tribes Trail in Miami.

Under the Modoc Tribal Constitution, the tribal election process begins with nominations taken for Chief, Second Chief, First and Second Council seats and Secretary/Treasurer, and then the nominees voted on at the same meeting.

All tribal members in good standing over the age of 18 are eligible to vote with their tribal membership cards.
