Ronald L. "Spud" Clogston, lifetime resident of Hockerville, Okla., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Ron was born on July 20, 1941, in Hockerville to Richard and Leola (Brandon) Clogston. Both parents preceded him in death.

He was a hard worker all of his life--working various jobs from a young age until starting employment at Wadler's/Oasis Car Wash in Galena in 1974. He worked there for 39 years until his retirement in 2015.

Ron married his hometown sweetheart, Carolyn "Suzy" (Whited) Clogston on July 11, 1960. She survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughters--Cindy Thompson and husband Carlin of Quapaw, Okla., and Rhonda Turner of Quapaw, Okla.; two grandchildren--Ashley Mayfield and husband Mike of Miami, Okla. and Nathan Thompson of Quapaw; one brother--Gary Clogston of Bloomington, Ind., and close friend Kathy Skahan of Columbus, Kan.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 29, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce, Okla., followed by a celebration of life service on April 30, David Johnson officiated.

Internment will be at Baxter Springs Cemetery in Baxter Springs, Kan., immediately following the celebration of life service. Pallbearers include Danny Brandon, Rick Turner, Larry Whited, Mike Mayfield, Brad Cole, and Gary Brandon.
