Wendell Wayne Dent, 91-year-old resident of Nolensville, Tenn., went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ at 5:40pm on April 7, 2018. Wayne was born on October 1, 1926 in Bernice, Okla. and, until the age of 60, lived in Miami, Okla.

He was the youngest of seven children born to John Theodore and Effie Viola Dent. He was married to Eula Pearl (Vanhoose) Dent on June 22, 1949 in Fairland, Okla. Wayne and Pearl raised their two children, Marjorie (Whitenack) and Roger, in Miami, Okla. Wayne was a talented craftsman who left his touch on many iconic buildings and homes in the Miami, Okla. area, eventually specializing in finish carpentry and painting.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and one brother. Wayne is survived by his wife Pearl, both children, three grandsons (John, Caleb, and Daniel Whitenack), and six great grandchildren (Emma, Parker, Nathan, Ethan, Sydney, and Callie Whitenack), along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends.

Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church in Nolensville, Tenn., where Wayne was a member. There will be a visitation prior to the services at 2 p.m. at the same location. Memorial donations can be made in Wayne’s name to the Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Home, and flowers for the service can be sent to the Woodbine-Hickory Chapel, Nashville, TN, 37211.
