Mary Elizabeth Manning, 71 year old, Miami, Okla. resident passed away, Wednesday April 4, 2018 following a sudden illness.

Mary was born on April 6th 1946 in Lebanon, Mo. to Carl and Jane (Brassfield) Marshall. After high school Mary attended the Barge school of Nursing in Springfield, Mo. She married Leon Manning on May 5th 1970 in Springfield, Mo. Mary was a registered nurse for several years before becoming the director of nursing for what is now Northeast Technology Centers. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Miami for over twenty five years, and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She also was the vice president and bookkeeper for Praetorian Security. Mary was very devoted to her volunteer work at the Salvation Army, and to her family development.   

Mary is preceded in death by her mother Jane, and a son Lance Manning.

Mary is survived by her husband Leon of the home, father, Carl, a son Lane Manning and wife Toni of Miami, Okla., sister Linda Snadon and husband Tom, of Springfield, Mo., and a sister Carla, Stepp also of Springfield Mo. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Morgan, Maverick, Lauren and Layla.      

Graveside services for Mary will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday April 7th 2018 at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla. Pastor Rick Longcrier will officiate. Serving as casket bearers will be Logan Kneeland, Shayne Smith, Mike Lilly, Ernie Fletcher, Jim Grover, Jim Boyd and Bob Gelso. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday April 6, 2018 at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.
