Kari Zoe Puryear Arnold passed from this life Monday, March 12, 2018 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She was 83.

Kari was born September 18, 1934 in Picher, Okla. to Harold and Gladys (VanHorn) Edens. She had lived in Picher and Miami all her life. She attended Picher and Miami Schools. She was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Miami, Okla. She had worked in Medical Records at Baptist Regional Hospital in Miami and worked for Dr. Hutchins as an assistant. She had also owned and operated a beauty shop in Commerce. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Buddy Edens and Roy Milton, three sisters Norma Jean Montgomery, Joy Varley, Twyla Edens and a step grandson Toby Foust.

Kari married Roy Arnold September 2015 and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include three sons Larry Puryear, Jr. of Bakersfield, Calif., John Puryear of Bakersfield, Calif. and Mark Puryear and wife Lisa of Fairland, Okla., two daughters Kara Sharpensteen of Miami, Okla. and Kandi Hale and husband Skip of Frontenac, Kan., step daughter Louise Whitlock of Miami, Okla., her sister Judy Bowcutt and husband Vaughn of Salt Lake City, Utah, 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren  

Funeral Services will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Okla. The Rev. Mary Koppel will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.   The family will receive from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
