William Burton McCorkell, 83, of Wyandotte, Okla., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at his home. William was born June 28, 1934, in Ottawa County, to Burton and Dot McCorkell.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and two sisters; Ruth-Ann Able and Marilyn Lahar. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dixie; a son, Larry McCorkell and wife Gwyn of Wyandotte; three grandchildren, Savannah & Shane Hemann, Larry & Mollye McCorkell and April McCorkell; and four great grandchildren, Katie and Kylie McInturff, Hale Hemann and Penny McCorkell; one sister, Marcia Enyart; and one brother in law, Billy Able.

William served his country in the United States Army, he worked for the Miami Police Department and retired from B.F. Goodrich.

William was always happy to see you and couldn't wait to give you a hard time. He would tell you what you needed to hear and not always what you wanted to hear, with a hug and a smile. He was friendly and young at heart. His smile and laugh will be missed. William loved roping, bird hunting and going to the Wyandotte basketball and football games with his good friends. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved teasing and playing with them.

Memorial will be held on Sunday, February 25th, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church.
