Mary Sharon Clapp a long time Fairland school teacher went to be with her heavenly Father while being surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of seventy-two. Sharon was born on May 4, 1945 in Wyandotte, Okla. to Nelson and Jessie (Wolfenbarger) Winscott. She graduated with the Wyandotte High School Class of 1963, and then went on to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M before going to Missouri Southern for her Bachelors Degree. All of Sharon’s twenty-three years of teaching were at Fairland Public Schools, mostly teaching fifth grade. She also worked side by side with her husband in the Auction Business for almost thirty years. Out of all the things Sharon was able to accomplish she enjoyed and was most proud of was her family, she loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her father, Nelson Winscott.
Survivors include her mother Jessie Winscott of Wyandotte, her husband of fifty-three years Joe Clapp of the home, her son Richard Clapp of Fairland, his daughter ShaeAnna Clapp, her daughter Rhonda Kuhn of Morrison and Rhonda’s sons Joe Kuhn and John Kuhn, her brothers Charles Winscott and his wife Susann of Wyandotte, Ron Winscott and his wife Bev of Wyandotte and John Winscott of Commerce, along with a sister Martha Wilson of Wyandotte. She also had special friends Kelli and Jody Shelton and Kathy Hitchcock and Sheila Draper.
Visitation is on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at First Assembly of God in Fairland on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Jackie Crafton and Reverend Chad Eads officiating. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Alice Gross Memorial Scholarship.
