1. The annual Grand Lake Audubon Society Eagle Watch takes place Saturday, Jan. 20. The group will meet and carpool from the Walmart parking lot behind Rib Crib in Grove at 6 a.m., sharp. Community members have come together to organize a benefit chili feed for local Angie Douthit who is currently battling Lung Cancer. $5 dollars gets you a bowl of chili with all the fixings, a drink, and dessert. T-shirts and silicone bracelets will also be available for purchase. 3. In theaters this weekend is the war action film “12 Strong” rated R, the story of the first Special Forces team deployed to Afghanistan after 9/11; “Den of Thieves” an R-rated crime thriller starring Gerard Butler and follows the lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff’s Department and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as the outlaws plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank; and the PG-rated romance “Forever My Girl” about a country star who returns home after eight years to the love he left behind.

4. The Quapaw Tribe’s Downstream Casino Resort's newly launched craft beers will be in the spotlight Sunday, Jan. 21 starting at 11 a.m. at the casino's Legends Sports Bar and Restaurant. “Tap the Craft” is a promotional event where guests who purchase a DCBC craft beer will receive their choice of a free logo pint glass or logo T-shirt.

5. The Super Bowl participants will emerge this weekend. On Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots play at 2:05 p.m. CST on CBS and the Minnesota Vikings face the Philadelphia Eagles at 5:40 p.m. CST on FOX. The winners get a trip to the Super Bowl, which is on Feb. 4.
