Daisy C. Edwards passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Bellevue Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. She entered this world on August 7, 1917 to William Elmer and Louisa Ethel (Webb) Bonner in St. Paul, Kan. She moved to Miami in 1936 where she met and married Branson Edwards in 1938. She worked at Anthony’s Clothing; Glenn Berry’s Clothing, Don Hume Leather Goods, managed at Gunn Brothers Stamp Store and was a Volunteer at Baptist Hospital for thirty years. Daisy’s hobbies included crocheting, knitting, gardening, mowing the yard, playing cards, checkers and bingo. She had been a member of the Pythion Sisters and was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Ethel, husband Bronson, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two sisters, Irma Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., Ernestine Calloway and her husband Mark of Tulsa, Okla.; three children Larry Edwards of Edmond, Okla., Karen Grimes and her husband Chuck of Carl Junction, Mo., Neva Edwards of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Ottawa Indian Cemetery. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Immediately following the service. The family has invited all those who wish attend to gather at the Ottawa Tribal building located on cemetery grounds, to sharing memories, stories, each other’s company and most importantly to celebrate the wonderful life of Daisy C Edwards.
