Orval Lee Qualls, 83, of Wyandotte passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 in Commerce. Orval was born on September 29, 1934 in Whitebird, Okla. to Orval Monroe Qualls and Freda (VonMoss) Qualls-Smith. He joined the United States Army which he was a veteran of. While in the Army he served on the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Miami where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Rotary Club in Miami. He was very active in the Real Estate and Insurance business in the Miami area. Mr. Qualls’ was preceded in passing by his parents Orval and Freda and step-father Amos Smith.
Surviving family members include his wife Roma Qualls of the home, his daughters Carrie Taylor and her husband Marty of Miami and Janet Webb and her husband Johnny of Miami, his son Randy Qualls and his wife Ronda of Wyandotte, a brother Albert Dale Qualls and his wife Judy of Riverton, Kan., his eight grandchildren Valerie Howard, Stephanie Taylor, Jessica Rice, Ashley Harwood, Nathan Webb, Tiffany Garner, David Qualls and Amy Qualls, along with eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 6 until 7 p.m. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Wyandotte Cemetery with Reverend Rick Longcrier officiating. American Legion Post #147 will be providing Military Honors.
Casketbearers will be David Qualls, Nathan Webb, David Patton, John Patton, Barry Howard and Chris Garner.
