Frisco Masonic Lodge #24 in Fairland matches $10,000 in donations raised at a November benefit for Allen and Cheryl Gross.

FAIRLAND – A Nov. 4 benefit dinner and auction organized by Cheryl and Bobby Franklin on behalf of Allen and Cheryl Gross garnered incredible community support.

The Grosses were injured in a motorcycle accident July 29, and Cheryl lost a leg during her initial recovery.

The Frisco Masonic Lodge #24 in Fairland pledged during the auction to apply for matching funds from their Masonic Charity Foundation up to $10,000. The community rallied together and beat that goal, raising an amazing $13,642.

Frisco Lodge #24 applied and was approved for a matching donation of $10,000, and presented the check to the Grosses Saturday, Dec. 2 in Fairland.

The proceeds from the benefit auction and matching Mason donation will help the couple with ongoing medical expenses.

Since the initial fundraiser, Cheryl has received a prosthetic and said she is feeling great. Her recovery continues including physical therapy as she continues to build strength and adjusts to walking with her new leg.

"We are happy to be able to contribute to the community," said Frisco Lodge Master Rodney Reynolds. "Charity is a value Masons hold highly!"
