Artie Mae Whiteley, longtime Miami resident passed from this life on Friday, November 17, 2017 at her home in Miami, Okla. She was 94.
Artie was born May 1, 1923 in Afton, Okla. to Art Presley and Nora Belle (Anderson) Chaney. She had lived in Miami for 73 years.
Artie worked for Miami Public Schools as a cook, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Miami.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Kay Bland, an infant son, her parents, five sisters and one brother.
Artie married Arthur Whiteley on May 29, 1947 at Columbus, Kan. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her son, Terry Whiteley of Miami, Okla., two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at First Assembly of God in Miami, Okla. with Rev. Raymond Frizzelle officiating. Interment will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami with Darren Tippet, Charles Stoner, Tommy Myers, Ken Myers, Christopher Linnell and Gary Countryman serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Okla. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, Okla.
