Olive Louise McGuire, age 93, passed away on November 14, 2017 at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo. Olive was born March 20th, 1924 in Girard, Kan. to Fred Roland and Nancy Elizabeth (DeMoss) Hanshaw. On December 26, 1945 she married husband Leonard McGuire. She was a Secretary at the County of Welfare Department for 5 years, and for 21 years at Alois Beiber Law of Columbus Kansas. Olive was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairland, Okla. She is preceded in death by husband Leonard McGuire, father Roland Hanshaw, mother Nancy Hanshaw, and sisters Helen Stolte & Thelma Azamber.
Surviving family members include daughters Michael Seafert and her husband Jim of Oak Grove, Mo. & Patricia Gibson and her husband Chigger of Miami, Grandchildren; Amee Seafert and her fiancé Dewane Goodwin of Blue Springs, Mo., Jason Gibson and his wife Tara of Miami, Mindy Gant and husband Brian of Blue Springs, Mo., and Sheila Warrington and her husband Luke of Miami, Great-Grandchildren; Bryce Gibson, Natalie Gibson, Drew Scott, Mackenzie Scott, Brooke Warrington, Bailey Warrington, Laney Warrington, Brayden Gant, and Kyndal Gant.
Services for Olive will be held on Friday, November 17 at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel in Fairland at 11 a.m. with Reverend Shannon Rodenberg and Reverend Brian Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at the Girard Cemetery in Girard, Kan. under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
Casketbearers will be Dewane Goodwin, Bryce Gibson, Drew Scott, Jason Gibson, Luke Warrington, Brian Gant, and Brayden Gant.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Natalie Gibson, Brooke, Bailey and Laney Warrington, Mackenzie Scott and Kyndal Gant.
The family has asked that memorial Contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fairland in Olive’s name.
