Penny C. Sexton, of Miami passed away at her home on Thursday, November 9, 2017, she was fifty-two. Penny was born on May 10, 1965 in Coffeyville, Kan. to Raymond Leroy Kerns and Carrie Nadine Kerns. She married Mike Sexton on November 3, 1990. Penny worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Court Administrator; she had also worked at First National Bank and Trust in Miami, Okla. She and Mike enjoyed traveling with their families. Mrs. Sexton was preceded in passing by her parents and a brother Carl Kerns.
Survivors include her husband Mike Sexton, children Annie Battitori and Lewis C. Sexton, a brother Raymond Leon Kerns, a sister Crystal Kay Hale, her grandchildren Joseph Battitori and Ella Battitori along with her aunt Sharon Mann, with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
There will be a Celebration of Life 10 a.m. at First Christian Church in Miami with Pastors Leon Weece and David Frazier officiating. Interment will follow at the Baxter Springs Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Casketbearers will be Steve Cline, Tyler Cline, Grant Victor, Dustin Grover, David Griswold and Sonny Booth.
