FAIRLAND – The start time for a local charity benefit has been adjusted to accommodate the overwhelming community response for auction items to raise funds to aid Allen and Cheryl Gross.

On July 29, the Grosses were involved in a motorcycle accident, and tragically, Cheryl lost her leg during her recovery process.

Kristy Franklin has helped to organize a charity benefit for the Grosses on Nov. 4 at Rob's Place, 60902 E 190 Rd, in Fairland, with all proceeds going toward meeting their medical expenses.

Donations for auction items well-exceeded expectations, and as a result, Franklin has moved the start time for the benefit back an hour from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The evening will include the auction and pulled pork dinner with all the fixings at 5 p.m. followed by live entertainment from the Stonehorse Band at 8 p.m.

The local Masonic Lodge said it is seeking to apply to match all proceeds from the evening.

All community members are invited to attend and asked to bring a giving heart, a lawn chair, and their own drinks.
