Harold Gene “Sonny” Jones, 80, a longtime Miami resident and business man passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Sonny was born on October 13, 1936 in Wyandotte, Okla. to Harold Earl and Blanche Ramona (Brady) Jones. Mr. Jones was a graduate with the Wyandotte High School Class of 1954. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he worked in Special Services. He married June Udell Brokaw on May 10, 1980 in Oklahoma City. He had a Mechanic Shop in Miami for twenty-seven years. He loved cars and liked to fix anything. He and June attended Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairland. Sonny was preceded in passing by his parents, Harold and Blanche Jones and a son Harry Fritchey McLees.

Survivors include his wife June Jones of the home, a daughter Gay Kelley and her husband Craig of Diamond, Mo., a sister Dolores Sue Sapp of Wyandotte, grandchildren, Felicia Bilke, Natasha Vaughn, Jeffery Kelley, Gregory Kelley and Madison Kelley, along with his great-grandchildren Noah Vaughn, Nate Vaughn, Nya Bilke, Maleah Bilke, Eden Bilke, JayLynn Kelley and Carson Kelley.

Visitation will be 6 until 7 .m. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami, Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Miami with Reverend Leo Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow at the Wyandotte Cemetery with Fort Sill’s Funeral Honors Team Providing Military Rites. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.

The family has asked that Memorial Contributions be made to the Wyandotte Class of 1954.
