Marvelle May (Farrington) Tucker, 97, of Grove, Okla., passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 9th, 2017 at Integris Grove Hospital after an illness. She was born October 8, 1919 in the Cabin Creek area west of Welch to Hershel H. Hampton and Nora May (Dobkins) Hampton. She was a graduate of Welch High School.

On April 21st, 1935, Marvelle married Abe Farrington in a ceremony held in Oswego, Kan.  Abe preceded her in death on October 16th, 1981, after 46 years of marriage. On November 29th, 2003, she became the bride of J.O. Tucker and they made their home in Grove.

Marvelle was one of kind. She was known for her loyal friendship to so many people. She was also the perfect example to many young ladies. She was known for her classy dress and had many hats to compliment her attire.

She retired from Williams Companies in Tulsa, Okla. where she was an Assistant Manager Concierge. She greatly enjoyed her retirement which allowed her more time with her family, who were her greatest joy. She especially adored her grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carolyn Ruth Pierce; five brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived her loving husband, J.O. Tucker; one daughter, Nora Elizabeth Farrington of Katy, Texas; two sons, Ronnie Farrington and wife Jacqueline Lee of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Abe Farrington and wife Patsy Ann of White Wright, Texas; five grandsons; three granddaughters, Holly Mewis, Tammy Pierce, Katrina Morphis, one extended family granddaughter, Cynthia Crow; 11 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; five nieces, Barbara Jean, Deann, Linda, Arleta, and Darlene; one nephew, Bobby; five step children; nine step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Services honoring Marvelle will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 14th, 2017 at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch. Minister Kristen Brown will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Welch City Cemetery. Grandsons serving as casket bearers will be Joe Darian Crow, Alan Farrington, Shannon Farrington, Wade Pierce, Abe Farrington, and Rhett Farrington-Mewis.
