19-year-old driver injured in a rollover accident south of Wyandotte over the weekend.
WYANDOTTE – A 19-year-old Noel, Missouri woman, Vanessa Montoya, was injured in a vehicle rollover Saturday at 10:58 p.m. on State Highway 10 and County Road South 642 approximately five miles south of Wyandotte in Ottawa County.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Garner's report, the 2004 Dodge Stratus driven Montoya was traveling northbound on Highway 10 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left. Montoya's vehicle struck a traffic sign, traveled up an embankment and rolled coming to rest on the vehicle's roof.
Montoya was transported by Quapaw Tribe EMS to Freeman Hospital in Joplin where she was admitted in stable condition and treated for head, external trunk and arm injuries.
OHP lists the conditions of the driver as apparently normal and roadway as dry with cloudy weather, and the cause of the collision as inattentive driving.
Seatbelts were equipped and in use, according to OHP.
