Bruce Virgil Turner of Commerce, Okla. passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his home.  He was 81.

Bruce was born December 25, 1935 in Commerce, Okla. to Jabe and Jewel (Goodwin) Turner. He had lived in Commerce his entire life and graduated from Commerce High School in 1954. He owned and operated Turner Muffler Shop and Turner Service Station on Main Street in Commerce for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Commerce, Okla. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Juanda Price.

Bruce married Gloria (Post) Turner July 2, 1959 and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include his son Chuck Turner of Commerce, Okla., his daughter Christy Easley and husband Jeff of Tulsa, Okla., a granddaughter they raised as a daughter since she was eight years old, Brandy Grider and husband Adam of Commerce, Okla., three additional grandchildren, Nathan Wright, Sierra Wright and David Turner, four great grandchildren, his brother Logan Turner of Quapaw, Okla., his sister Ginger Grassi of Chatham, Ill., special nephew and niece Kevin Grassi and wife Dayana of Commerce, Okla. and Kim Carpenter and husband Tim of Chatham, Ill.

Celebration of Life Services will be Monday, August 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Commerce, Okla. Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce, Okla.
