Carol Ann Maute of Fairland, Okla. passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at her home. She was 73.

Carol was born January 28, 1944 in Joplin, Mo. to Thomas Skeith and Lucille Pittman Skeith.

She had lived in Picher, Okla. most of her life until moving to Fairland eight years ago. She had worked at Leigh Manor nursing home in Picher until she retired.

Carol enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for her family and playing with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lucille Hilliard, daughter, Karen Michelle Maute and a sister Linda Edens.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred Dean Maute of the home, daughters, Linda Riggins, Debbie O’Neal, Lisa McDaniel, Pam Blalock and her husband George, and a son, Tommy Maute. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, a sister, Billie Smith, a brother, J. Hilliard and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and Interment will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, with Pastor Ray Clonts, officiating. The family will have visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce.
